How It Started
Yoga teacher training (ytt) has affected my life in the most beautiful ways. There are several different reasons as to why doing a ytt has changed my life for the better.
In many places Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Ottawa, Montreal, Hamilton, Toronto, Halifax, St Johns, London, Greece, Bali, Thailand, Perth, Brisbane, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, New Zealand, Hawaii, a ytt can help you spiritually, emotionally, physically and mentally in your life.
YTT Life Lesson
There are several life lessons which I have learned and many fears I have released by completing my ytt. For example, it helped me evolve into who I am today. It is clear that everyone has positive and negative thoughts, feelings, experiences, and more.
By doing Karma Yoga in particular, it cleanses the soul by bringing forward your true self, which can give rise to an enlightenment, and can aid in the soul evolving. A motto I live by, is to be the best person I can be, all of the time. Karma Yoga has truly taught me truth all around, and balance between positive and negative in this world as well.
Jnana Yoga
Furthermore, learning and practicing Jnana Yoga has taught me that I do not know everything, and that I want to keep learning to a great extent. According to the ‘Yoga Is’ film, ”The way to God is through surrender”.
We are all bound by positive and negative, although nonduality can be easily experienced by removing all learned knowledge including perceptions and beliefs.
To completely clear and empty the mind, can lead to more knowledge, and in some cases a resolution to a problem. If done properly, a person can directly see through the illusions of the world (i.e the World of Maya), into objective reality, which is a clear surrender to god. When a person removes all perceptions and beliefs, they become still and empty.
This makes more room for things they may not have considered before or were open to exploring before. To be an open minded person is a great skill to have in this life, especially because there are always two sides to most things, positive, or negative, and one true resolution.
Awakening
The world is awakening which inspires me so greatly to get involved in and be a team member in the Yoga Community, as well as to help others along their journey. I feel a purpose to help other souls evolve through their journey, and to be the best people they can be, just as I am on my own journey as well.
Karma and Jnana Yoga has not only helped me in a great spiritual manner, but has also helped me emotionally as well.
Yoga has taught me to stay level headed during stressful, or any general unwanted times. It has taught me to stay patient and regulate my emotions and in that sense has helped me grow as a person. I have known for quite a while that when a person performs yoga or any physical activity it releases toxins, and even more if intended to release anything through Karma Yoga.
Yoga also helps with anxiety for most people which I can totally agree with during stressful times or times when I am out of my comfort zone.
Mediation
Mediation also greatly helps me with my emotions as well. I get to sit down and think, why am I feeling the way I am? I let my thoughts flow, and I pick which ones I would like to embody for myself, which is positivity and gratitude.
Yoga has taught me to see the light in the dark places of the world, and to stop manifesting the fears that are presented to the world.
Yoga has also benefited me a ton physically as well. I feel so much more energy when I do yoga in the morning and get a great night’s rest completing evening yoga sets as well.
I have much more strength in my arms, core, and legs, as well as I always feel super stretched out everyday, which is much better than feeling like a couch potato. Yoga also feels amazing on the body after a long day working, or to stretch out any injuries if completed the right kind of yoga.
Lastly, yoga has helped me mentally. As most people, or some may relate, sometimes it is hard to know what to follow, what choices to make, and what to believe in.
Many Bad Things
There are many bad people, ads, articles, and more out there trying to disrupt the paths of others, and although these people doing this are only on their own journey as well.
It is important to know what is true to individual person, and what is not, while also keeping in mind of the good guidance around to show the way through. It is completely up to the person which emotions, actions, or even perceptions they chose to embody for themselves.
Having A Practice
Yoga and meditation on the other hand, reminds you of who you are, what you stand for, and what you believe in, all through emptying the mind. “Relax, allow the mind to become empty, and surprise yourself with the great treasure that begins to flow from your soul.” The world is going through stressful, but also amazing times.
Yoga can be a solution to stress, and personally I believe that yoga can aid in the recovery of a mental illness of any kind, speaking from experience.
Yoga is wonderful and I cannot wait to teach others about the beauty of yoga, meditation, and maintaining a healthy mind, body, and soul. It is a passion of mine to be taking this exact course, as yoga truly is my path, and I enjoy everything about it including the difficult experiences which have shaped me into the person I have become today.
